We're excited to announce that Karen Silverman has joined Ajax’s Advisory Board! As we continue to develop AI-powered timekeeping solutions for lawyers, Karen's expertise in AI governance and legal technology will be invaluable.
Over the past few months, we've had some great conversations with Karen about the future of legal tech, the challenges of accurate timekeeping, and the potential of AI in law firms. Her insights have already sparked new ideas for how we can make our tools even more useful for attorneys.
Karen is the founder and CEO of The Cantellus Group, where she advises major companies, startups, and governments on AI and emerging tech strategies. Her work focuses on practical governance approaches for AI and other frontier technologies, helping organizations navigate the complex intersection of technology, law, and ethics.
Before launching The Cantellus Group, Karen spent over 20 years at Latham & Watkins, one of the world's leading law firms. There, she held several key roles, including Office Managing Partner for San Francisco. Karen specialized in global antitrust and competition law, tackling complex M&A regulatory matters and advising on AI governance issues. Her experience in building Latham's global M&A competition practice gives her a unique perspective on the evolving needs of modern law firms.
Known for her work in AI ethics, Karen has been recognized as a Top Ten Legal Innovator by The Financial Times and one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics. She's also contributed to AI governance frameworks with the World Economic Forum's Global AI Council and served as a Global Innovator and member of their Experts Network.
Karen's expertise extends beyond her consulting work. She has served on various boards and councils, including as a member of the aiEDU board, that supports AI-related curricula for K-12 schools and formerly Chairman of the Board for Krunam, a public benefit corporation developing complex content moderation tools. She's also a member of the ABA Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence and sits on the Fast Company Impact Council.
Her academic credentials are equally impressive. Karen holds a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She's also completed an Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management, further deepening her understanding of AI's impact on business and law.
We're thrilled to have Karen on board as we build Ajax. Her experience and perspective will help ensure Ajax is not just technologically cutting-edge, but also practical and ethically sound.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work together to make timekeeping less of a headache for lawyers everywhere!
